Project Bois : An Exotic Journey

In this 50 m² transformation, we reimagined a series of outdated rooms into a cohesive interior defined by modern clarity and subtle exotic influence.

The first priority was to optimise circulation and spatial flow. Separate doorways were introduced to clearly define each room, and bespoke black doors were selected to create a striking contrast against white walls and warm beige microcement. This architectural framework established both rhythm and cohesion throughout the apartment.

The WC

In the guest WC, we embraced depth and character. Wallpaper by BauBauWall introduces visual texture, complemented by Ressource Peinture applied to both walls and ceiling for a unified envelope. Generous 15 cm skirting boards, mouldings, a bamboo mirror and an opal bamboo wall light add natural warmth and dimensional layering.

Black zellige tiles and a matching hand basin reinforce the refined aesthetic, while black-and-white floor tiles anchor the design with graphic consistency.

The Bathroom

The bathroom was conceived as a spa-like retreat. Microcement and oak wood were combined to create a warm yet contemporary atmosphere, enhanced by abundant natural light.

A bespoke 10 cm deep sink by iStone adds a subtle yet luxurious detail. Custom cabinetry, integrated storage and recessed niches — manufactured in Portugal — ensure both functionality and visual continuity.

The shower features botanical tiles paired with Hoxton tiles, introducing a restrained tropical influence. Integrated LED lighting around the shower enhances both ambience and architectural definition.

The Bedroom

The bedroom reflects the personality of the clients, with a design inspired by African influences and natural textures. Rice paper wallpaper by Le Monde Sauvage is framed with mouldings, subtly linking the space to the WC and reinforcing cohesion across the apartment.

Extended half-walls and a carefully positioned wardrobe create an illusion of expanded space. Rattan pendant lights from Kave Home and Zara Home introduce softness and warmth.

The bespoke wardrobe, crafted in Portugal from solid black wood, features wabi-sabi inspired handles. The colour palette embraces nature — layered greens, earthy browns and muted blues — creating a grounded yet expressive atmosphere.
