Project Wallis : Renovation of a Studio Inspired by Portuguese Interior Design
This project involved the complete interior redesign of a 30 m² studio apartment located in Luxembourg City, inspired by the warmth and architectural sensitivity of Portuguese interiors.
The challenge was to transform a compact single-room layout into a functional living space with a defined sleeping area — without compromising light, flow or comfort.
Every square metre was carefully studied. We reconfigured the floor plan to optimise circulation and spatial clarity, creating a distinct bedroom zone within the studio’s limited footprint.
To introduce architectural character, we designed bespoke double doors that serve both aesthetic and practical purposes. Their opening mechanism was carefully considered to minimise spatial intrusion, making them an ideal solution for compact interiors. Beyond functionality, they add rhythm and structure to the overall composition of the space.
The result is a studio that feels intentional, balanced and far more expansive than its original layout — proof that thoughtful design can transform even the smallest footprint.
