Projet Diaz - A renovation with a classic, timeless design

This turnkey renovation included a living room, kitchen and dining room, bathroom and passageway in a duplex dating from the first half of the 20th century.

The property had not been maintained for decades and was extremely dilapidated. We had to start from scratch and demolish all the existing fixtures, as almost nothing could be integrated into the new design. However, we saw enormous potential in the space from the outset, thanks to its ceiling height of over 3 meters and the width of the rooms.

We played with custom moldings throughout the property to accentuate the ceiling height and give the illusion of volume. We also opted for a classic herringbone floor to bring a timeless touch to the design.

Although the overall tone of the main living space is classic, we used the bathroom to set a more eccentric tone for the entire property. We started with a hand-painted sink we found in a Spanish coastal town, and built the rest of the room around it, with Yves Klein blue walls and Moroccan Zellige tiles.

The owners of the property like to read and listen to rock and roll music. We wanted this to be reflected in the living room. We painted the walls a dark slate color to bring a relaxing atmosphere to the room and added shelves with plenty of space for their book and music collections.
